Visages of Memory at UM

Please join JGSGM and others at 3 pm Sunday, July 16, 2023, for the exhibit “Visages of Memory” at the Kislak Center in the Otto G. Richter Library on the University of Miami campus.

“Visages of Memory” at UM July 16

The exhibit honors Holocaust survivors and preserves their memories. Two JGSGM members, Holocaust survivors Allan Hall and Peter Tarjan, are an active part of the exhibit.

Photographer Laszlo Selly, a Holocaust survivor himself, captured the visages of fellow survivors as seen through his unique lens of solidarity and understanding.

Each of Selly’s portraits is accompanied by a short account of the survivor’s personal and inspiring story written by Bobbi Kaufman.

The event will be led by curator Kineret Ben Knaan, Director of Technical Services and Judaic Studies Librarian along with Arthur Dubnkeman, Phd. curator of the Jay I. Kislak Collection curator and co-curator for the Holocaust exhibition Sylvia Gurinsky, Historian and Educator is assigned as our group leader.
