How I created a family tree and family history book and why I should have joined the Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Miami before starting my Research

David will share and explain his genealogical methodology researching his family history and create an interactive discussion. Without previous genealogy training or experience David was able to uncover family stories, create an extensive family tree, discover the history of his ancestral town, and translate a treasure trove of Yiddish letters sent by his great-great-grandfather.

David began his family history researching his paternal line in 2019. He discovered distant relatives who had a copy of a hand-drawn family tree created by his great-great-grandfather. He learned the name of his ancestral town when he discovered his family members’ burial location and so much more.

David, along with his children Taylor, and Philip spent the last three years researching their paternal lineage. The knowledge they gained exceeded all perceived expectations.
